High Anticipation and Too Much Pain

 Monday, July 19, 2021

Excited to get on the road for Leg #2 of our 2021 adventures.  Unfortunately, I work up with a backache this morning, but I have certainly had worse.   Check-in time isn't until 3:00 pm so we didn't want to leave too early.  It was only supposed to be a three-hour drive.  Packing up was quick and Cali was a little easier to catch this morning.

Our destination is the Little Mexico Campground in Winfield, Pennsylvania.  I put the address into the GPS and it wanted to take us an extra 100 miles out of our way turning the trip into a five-hour drive.  We have always trusted our RV GPS but we knew something wasn't right.  With our own knowledge of Route 15, we decided to go it alone.  I continued to adjust settings on the GPS and finally, after changing to all roads it finally came around.  But, it still had some problems.  It started flipping around to screens on its own.  It seemed to want to be handheld and eventually settled down.  I think I see a new GPS in our future.

We did get here by 3:15 after three hours of uneventful driving.  We did drive through a little rain but it stopped for a while.  Hurried to set up but didn't get the sewer, cable, or WiFi antenna up in time.    We can do that tomorrow.  Normally we can set up pretty quick, but our site was not quite level.  It is pretty time-consuming trying to level a big rig.  So we just settle in, listening to the rain, and set up the inside.  I ask Bruce to look at something in the back corner of the bedroom.  He had to lean over the bed and when he went to stand up something went in his back. He has been in excruciating pain all night. Don't know what tomorrow will bring.
