County Fair

 Thursday, July 22, 2021

Easy day around the RV because we are off to the Lycoming County Fair tonight.  It starts at four and is a good hour's drive.  We know we won't last long because of the heat and our backs.  It cost $4 to park right at the gate and $4 each to get in.  We walked around the outside track where all the vendors were.  It is a big decision on what fair food you are going to get.   We were interested by a hot dog vendor who experiments with unusual toppings like fruity pebbles.  We shared an asiago cheese and bacon dog.  It was good but expensive.  I thought it was $5 but when checking my change I only got $10 back from my $20.  Not sure it was supposed to be $10 or he made a mistake.  But it was loaded with cheese and bacon.  Bruce decided on a brisket sandwich and I found us some Frozen lemonade shine.  They were really good.  Come from a distillery called Nomad.  Maybe we will visit before we leave.

We checked out antique tractors, rabbits, and chickens.as well as a few other buildings.

There was a couple performing polkas when we were passing by.  I had to stop and listen.  I am from Pennsylvania after all.  Their next set was to honor veterans.  In fact, it was Military Appreciation Day.  I actually helped to pass out flags for the audience to wave.  It was very uplifting for me.

With all the back trouble we have been having a few hours was all we had in us, but that was enough.  It was a fun evening.
