Off to Ohio, Big Scare

Saturday, July 27, 2018

We are off to our next location which is a Harvest Host Farm in Troy, Ohio.  Fulton Farms.  All was going well until we were driving on Interstate 75 in a construction area.  Jersey walls were on the left, two lanes, and a drop off on to a very muddy shoulder to the right.  We are in the right lane and a semi traveling very fast was in the left.  Air pressure builds up when semi's pass and this one was stronger than usual.  It pushed us off the road and all the tires on the passenger side were in the mud of the shoulder.  You just can't steer back up a drop off real quick.  Bruce did an amazing job keeping us upright and going forward until he could get us back on the road.  We were throwing mud like there was no tomorrow.  I really feel for those behind us, in fact, they were backing way off maybe expecting the worst.

Once we were back on the road, Bruce said all felt okay but we pulled off as soon as possible.  There, fortunately, was a rest area in a few miles.   Not only was the coach's undersides packed with mud the poor truck was covered and we had a blowout.  Called AAA to help with the spare.  While we waited we dug mud out of everywhere.  The dually tires had mud packed between them so much there were turning black and I had to use a shovel to loosen it.  We had to dig the headlights of the truck out.  Looks like we were off-roading.

Once we got the spare on we continued on to Fulton Farms.

These were our neighbors for the night.
