We decided to take advantage of the invitation to Tootsie's tonight. They had a guitar player there and the best flatbread pizza I ever tasted. Denice, the bartender we talked to yesterday told us she makes a small menu for the Saturday night events. Well, it may be small but it tasted fantastic. We started out with her new creation of blue cheese, bacon flatbread. Then we had her shrimp, asparagus and pesto topped flatbread.
After a pleasant little while there we headed down to Jackson to see a free concert and then the Cascades. The band playing at the Band Shell was The All Directions Band. The singer was very good. She was better than the band. But it was very relaxing sitting and leaning on a rock listening to them play. A very local thing.
After the concert, we were waiting for dark. The Cascades are a man-made waterfall built in 1932. There are six fountains, three reflecting pools, and 16 falls, 11 which are illuminated. I understand that they are making updates all the time like changing the bulbs to LED rope lights. Once the sun started setting the falls were beginning to light up. We watched for a while from the seats at the bottom and then walked up the steps that go to the top and around and back down the other side. Thought that was all there was to it and prepared to head home when they announced the beginning of the light show. Glad we weren't in too big a hurry to leave because it would have been a shame to miss this show.
