Corn Muffins and Fresh Lamb

Wednesday, July 11, 2018

Today we were able to get a time slot to visit and tour the Chelsea Milling Company, makers of the Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix as well as many other mixes.  We started out with a film about the history of the company as well as the process.  This is a family owned company that has involved four generations.  Before we actually went inside the factory floor area, we were able to place an order for some of there products.  Ended up buying a 24 box variety case and Bruce got a tee shirt.  Our order would be waiting for us at the end of the tour.  As in most industrial tours, no pictures inside.

After our Jiffy tour, we walked around Chelsea a bit.  Chelsea has a number of sculptures around the city.  Here are two that we stumbled upon.  We also passed this very interesting church.

On our way home, we stopped by a local farmers market and bought some fresh lamb chops witch we had for dinner.  I also used some of my Jiffy supply and made creamy corn muffins for dinner and blueberry scones for breakfast tomorrow.
