Today we went to Pilot Mountain State Park. The road to the top was very steep and curvey. Rising abruptly more than 2,000 feet, Pilot Mountain has been a navigational landmark for centuries. With Bruce's bad knee we still managed a small hike to the overlook. There were some gentlemen there counting hawks. It is something that they do on a periodic basis.
