Not Such a Good Day

Saturday, July 18, 2020

Received a call early this morning.  Candice has a sore throat and with this stupid Covid-19 stuff we let the fear rule us to be on the safe side.  She will have to get tested and who knows.  Not real confident that the tests are accurate.  Seems like the chances are positive whether or not you really have it.  We are so disappointed that they will not be joining us.

It is so hot here that there is not much choice but to just take a drive.  We decided to go out early and look for a letterbox.  We haven't done that in quite a while.  On the way, we stopped at a Civil War site on McLaws Trail.  Walked just a small way on the trail but it is too hot so we will do the whole trail on a cooler day.

Soybeans.
We searched for the letterbox at the Maury House Trail.  It was very easy to find, but unfortunately, it has gotten wet and the book was destroyed.  We were still able to stamp our book though.

We then just drove toward Culpepper and took some pictures along the way.

Here is an old abandon farmhouse with an old-fashioned hand water pump in the yard.

This was a group of three abandon houses.  One was so grown over with trees and weeds you can barely see it.

A field of sunflowers.  Wish I could have gotten closer to take the picture.
