We decided to do a road trip today.  Drove to Ellicott City.  We wanted to see how the town was recovering after the horrible flooding last year.  Many of the shops are still being repaired but it looks like things will be good by summer.  Tried to do some filming with Bruce's new video camera.  The editing part is very much a work in progress.

After driving through Ellicott City we visited the Benjamin Banneker Museum.

Although his home burned down on the day of his funeral,
this is a reconstructed cabin much like he would have lived in.

Wooden Clock
This is a very nice and interesting museum.  Well worth a visit.  There are some hiking trails here we may come back to hike.  We also had a nice talk with the docent there and got some tips for future rod trips.

Continuing on with a road trip we were driving around the area and found some abandon buildings along a road called Hilltop Road.  There was an area below this road that had been the site of and old paper recycling factory.  I think it probably  had other industry there as well but now is just a flat empty space.  We were surprised at how many abandon houses there were along this road.  We saw at least five.  After a little internet exploring there were more abandon building here but were torched by some kids.  The factory area also was a victim of fire, so now it is just a concrete slab.
