Brumwell's Flea Market

Saturday, August 21, 2021

Back in Maryland.  Went to Brumwell's Flea Market.  Found a key guy there who replaced the battery in the Rogue key fob.  Came across a guy selling Skylanders.  I knew Brandon would go crazy if he were here so I texted him some pictures and bought some per his instructions.

Had a really nice breakfast here at Cookies.

Mohegan Sun, Pocono

 Friday, August 13, 201

Off to gamble a little at the Mohegan Sun.  This was a little bit of a drive, but it was a beautiful day and we do love visiting casinos around the US.  No big wins, but no big losses either.

Well Known Brewery, Rusty Rail

 Thursday, August 12, 2021

Dinner and a flight at the Rusty Rail in Mifflinburg. This is a very large brewery and restaurant.  We heard about it from many locals.  It did not disappoint.

Another Bridge, Old Fort Site, Music and Brews at Camp

 Saturday, August 7, 2021

Just an easy day today.  Bruce is not feeling long drives right now.  We visit yet another covered bridge in the Milton area.

Rishel Bridge
121' burr truss, built in 1830.
May be the oldest remaining original covered bridge in Pennsylvania.

Next, we went to the town of Sunbury.  This was quite close to where we were camping.  We visited a site where Fort Augusta was located.  Built in 1756-57 as a key frontier outpost of the region.

Back to Little Mexico Campground.  Tonight they had another band.  This is really a nice perk for a campground.

Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park

 Friday, August 6, 2021

Today was a trip to Centre Hall, PA to visit the historic Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park. What a pleasant surprise this park was.  The cave tour was from a boat through the very pretty Penn's Cave. On the other side, it opened up into a lake area where many animals could be seen.  Once the boat tour was over we then boarded a bus and visited the wildlife park, seeing many animals up close and personal.  Many of these animals were in enclosures, but it was still an interesting and informative tour.   The only thing not good was, remember the log flume ride yesterday.  Bruce was not a happy camper. In fact, after we left here it was off to Walmart for a donut pillow to help Bruce be a little more comfortable.

Knoebels

 Thursday, August 5, 2021

Who doesn't love an amusement park?  We may not be able to spend from opening to closing like we used to.  And we may have to skip a few roller coasters, but we still love amusement parks.

Knoebels is a family-owned park that opened in 1926.  It is the largest free-admission park.  We were enjoying the day, but all good things come to an end.  We decided we could do the log flume before heading home.  No big deal, right?  Well coming down the hill Bruce bounced a little odd and hit his tailbone on the seat.  Not a good ending to the day.  It was a little more serious than we would have expected.
