Pictures to Remember

September 2019

Being home instead of traveling gives us some here and there pictures worth remembering.  Some we may have taken, others we receive every now and then.
Happy Birthday, Jayan.

National Harbor

Friday, September 20, 2019

I was looking through the Groupon App and saw tickets for the Capital Wheel at the National Harbor. That sounded like a good little day trip so off we went.  It has been a while since we were there and it has really developed into a nice attraction.  There are so many artistic items, from murals to fountains to statues. It was a beautiful weather day as well, so we really enjoyed strolling along the streets after our ride on the Capital Wheel.

Seafood and Quirky Stuff

Saturday, September 7, 2019

Off to the Maryland Seafood Festival.  We drove to Annapolis Community College where we caught a shuttle bus to Sandy Point Park.  This was certainly all about food.  We had really good crab cakes and Butterfly Fries that are potatoes piled with bacon, cheese, ranch dressing and probably other stuff I have forgotten.  Bands were playing on the main stage as well as smaller venues around the grounds.  There were also many vendors and a carnival as well.  We made the mistake of getting there when the gates opened.  Usually, this is a good thing, but here I think later would have been better for this kind of event, because we were done walking around before many of the events were scheduled.  So we decided to leave and look for some of our favorite things, quirky things.

Glass blowing demonstration.

Rotted molar on a dentist's office.

Tree of mirrors.

Really big crash dummy.

Use to be a really neat flea market. Now just a big market.
