We went downtown to a Distillers Festival today. It was a really nice presentation of local distillers. Note to self. Do not go to a Distillers Festival on an empty stomach. Everyone is so proud of their product, they are quite generous with tastings. I mistakenly thought I would be able to eat upon arriving, but one had to travel through a lot of Distilleries before one gets to food. Lesson learned.

Thursday Road Trip
Thursday, February 22, 2018
Today we headed south to Clinton, MD to the Mary Surratt House. This is one of those backyard places we have always meant to see. We had a really nice tour with a very passionate docent and learned a lot of history. When we returned to the gift shop, I mentioned how much I always wanted to go on the Booth Escape Tour and it just so happened they had four seats left on the 4/28 tour. We grabbed two and another couple on our tour grabbed the last two.
Afterward, we went to the NASA Rocket Garden and Moon Tree. NASA Goddard research lab features a public visitor center. The moon tree was grown from a seed brought back by Apollo 14. We did not even know this place existed. Apparently, we did not take a picture of the tree so I captured one from the internet. The other pictures are ours. This was a very interesting place especially if you are into space travel. There was a group of school children there when we arrived. Sometimes that is nice because you get to overhear the rangers presentations.

Sometimes it is a strange feeling knowing your hand is on the same banister that someone from a historic time used every day. |

Sunday, February 18, 2018
Today we gathered at Aspenwood with Family and Friends to Celebrate Mom's Life. This would have been her 97th birthday.

Baltimore Auto Show
Friday, February 9, 2018
Because we own a Chevy Colorado Bruce always gets free tickets to the Auto Show in Baltimore. He always enjoys looking at the new vehicles. I just have a bad case of sticker shock.
Afterward, we drove into Annapolis and had lunch at The Rams Head.

Winter Road Trip
Friday, February 2, 2018
Went for a ride north today. Drove up to Penn-Mar, an area that straddles the Mason-Dixon Line, north of Thurmont MD. This was a place we visited many years ago with the boys and watched hang gliders take off. We were really surprised to see this beautiful mountain covered with graffiti and regulations forbidding any hang gliding. Then, we noticed the cross and figured that maybe "they" decided it was too dangerous.

Misplaced Photo from 2017
As hard as we try to be tech literate, we don't always have a handle on things. But after some help from Youtube and some experimenting we learned how to move photos from Bruce's Nikon to my Google Photos. Some of these shots were really nice so I wanted to include them in this years blog so we would have them to look back on in our old fogey years.
These four pictures were taken in the Kiptopeke State Park on Cape Charles, VA. The Concrete Ships and a walk along the beach.
Sunset from our campsite in The Colonies RV Park at Fort Monroe,
