Today we celebrated Deven's (3rd grandchild) first birthday.  Happy Birthday Deven. He was born on January 29, 2016.  How cool is it to watch your grandchildren grow up.

Anticipation

This stuff is really good!

After our Birthday celebration, Bruce and I attended
one of the final performances of Medieval Madness.
This is a dinner comedy that is held at the
John Strongbow's Tavern in  Alexandria, VA.  This is a dinner that serves food that would have been served in Medieval times.  It is a family style setup.  It is also an interactive show.  The Duke and Duchess of Salem preside over the dinner while performing a routine that keeps us laughing.  In the past, there have even been real knights in full armor doing
full contact sword battles. Service is complete with wenches.
Sadly the Duke has decided to give up these performances. He hasn't had a day off in six years. Most of tonight's crowd are repeat customers as we are. We had a great time and sorry to see it end. With the ending of the show John Strongbow's is also closing.

 Added in  April:

We were saddened to hear that the Duke of Salem (Thomas Booth) has a very serious case of bone cancer.  Tom was a Green Beret. He has given many people many enjoyable evenings. Prayers and best wishes to him and a profound recovery.

Girlfriend week in Las Vegas.  Left Monday and returned Friday.  Mary Cawley, Pat Robertson, Sandy Ray and Carol Robertson and me.  Carol rented a car this year so we were MOBILE.  Went to a number of off the strip casinos, restaurants and a trip to Ethel M Chocolates.  Didn't come home with any money but had a lot of fun.

We went to the RV Show in Chantilly, VA today.  That is what RVers do in the winter if they don't snowbird.  Small show, nothing made us want to trade in our coach.

Well, it's a new year.  We have decided to expand our blog to cover the things we do, places we go and folks we spend time with, even if the RV isn't involved.  We will not be able to spend as much time on the road this year as we may like, we are going to try to take advantage of all the neat things to do wherever we are, as often as we can.  We are treating this blog as our Journal and plan to print a softbound copy at the end of the year.  We did this for 2016 and it turned out really great. So now with a little more experience and knowledge of what we can do with this blog, all kinds of memories will show up.

I will start with the receipt of last year's blog in book format.

What a great idea.  When we are old and gray many years from now we will always be able to look back at the wonderful things we have done.

We were very fortunate to start our 2017 with Mom and Dad Besmen.  We had New Year's day dinner with them at Aspenwood.  It was a very nice dinner of quail. They had the dining room nicely decorated and even had a band playing during dinner.
